The 2022 Lollapalooza poster embodies the feeling and essence of Lollapalooza and Chicago- bright, fun, weird, and a bit chaotic. Also inspired by the artist’s Chicago collogues painting murals, making music, printing gig posters, and being the best kind of weird. This musical creature could be seen moving through the city rocking out, spreading joy, love and just a dash of mayhem. One can only assume it has skateboards for feet and is fueled by hotdogs and Old Style (responsibly). 

 About the Artist

 Jason Abraham Smith aka Lurk and Destroy is an artist, illustrator, printmaker, dog lover, aging skater, muralist, caffeine addict, used to be punk, vandal, college dropout, mental heath advocate and cookie fiend. 

 Jason’s work is inspired by 80’s and 90’s cartoons, album art, skateboarding and graffiti culture. He creates whimsical psychedelic creatures in bright dreamlike worlds. “The weirder the better!”
