2015 Lollapalooza Poster — Commemorative Edition

We stayed close to home this year in selecting beloved Chicago artist Tony Fitzpatrick to design this year’s commemorative poster. Tony put his superior collage skills to work in crafting a fantastical design that captures the city’s beauty, mystery and a little bit of darkness that is rock ‘n’ roll. Each element is carefully selected from Tony’s treasury of found images and painstakingly cut out and applied to become a gorgeous mashup of Chicago artifacts from storied ginjoints and music clubs, the CTA, historical images and more. We’ve reproduced the art in two very special editions. As with all of our posters, we only print one run and once sold out will not be re-issued. See below for more details:

The Commemorative Edition is offset-printed with four-color process ink on heavyweight, 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper. Includes complete band lineup and measures 18” x 24”. See the Signed & Numbered version here.

The accompanying image shows the main poster art only and does not show the lineup.
All posters will begin shipping in June.

About the Artist
Formerly a tattoo artist and semi-professional boxer, self-instructed Chicago artist Tony Fitzpatrick is considered a renegade in the contemporary art scene. His imagery is inspired by street life in Chicago, childhood encounters with Catholic icons, superheroes, industrialization and contemporary politics. Fitzpatrick’s early artistic career focused primarily on printmaking, in more recent years he turned to large-scale mixed media drawings, paintings and collages. Fitzpatrick’s work can be found in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Miami, and many other public collections.
